Dear Students, Staff, and Families:
As we approach the holiday season, I extend my gratitude to our dedicated teachers and staff, supportive families, and outstanding students. Your hard work and collaboration make Cumberland’s schools exceptional places for learning and growth. We truly have much to celebrate and be grateful for.
2025 Support Professional of the Year
Earlier this month, district administrators met to review all the worthy candidates for the district’s support staff of the year award. It is with great enthusiasm that we announce Cumberland’s 2025 Support Professional of the Year, Christina Tomassi, Paraprofessional, North Cumberland Middle School.

Thank you to Casey’s Kicks
Cumberland native, Kaela Contrada-Ray, founded Casey’s Kicks in honor of her brother, Casey Contrada. Casey was a huge sneakerhead, and one day, Kaela and Casey were brainstorming ways to fill a car and donate a large number of sneakers to kids in need. Unfortunately, Casey passed before they could do this together. Kaela has made it her mission to keep Casey’s legacy alive by creating a non-profit that they would have loved to live out together. Over the past couple of months, Casey’s Kicks has donated 148 pairs of shoes to Cumberland students. Thank you to Casey’s Kicks and Heather Chea.

Two North Cumberland Middle Schoolers, eighth-grade twins, Caylee & Cameron Kurbec, were awarded individual Rhode Island State Champions at the Middle School Cross Country tournament. Congratulations Runners!
