Dear Students, Staff, and Families:
Wishing you an enjoyable Labor Day weekend. Reminder: There is no school on Monday, September 7th, in honor of the holiday, and on Wednesday, September 9th, for Primary Election Day. School will be in session on Tuesday, September 8th.
Redistricting
Understandably, the district has been inundated with questions regarding the proposed redistricting, and we have been working diligently to stay on top of them all.
First off, I want to stress that the redistricting is proposed for the start of the 2027/2028 school year.
Please take some time to review this comprehensive question-and-answer-style information page linked from our district home page.

Any new information will be added here as we receive it.
If there are still questions that have not been answered, please reach out.
There will be a brief discussion of redistricting at the September 10th meeting,
and a more in-depth discussion on October 1st when Transpar will be available to answer School Committee questions.
ParentSquare
Overall, we have gotten positive feedback regarding the district’s new communication platform. If you have not received the email to set up your ParentSquare app, please reach out to your student’s building secretary to confirm that your contact information is up to date. For more information on ParentSquare, check out https://cumberlandschools.org/parentsquare-information/ under the “Family Resources” tab.
Job Openings
The Cumberland School Department currently has openings for Bus Monitors and Crossing Guards; please spread the word. This could be a great opportunity for individuals looking to get out into the community. Application Link.
