Community School Update – October 12, 2023 *Open*
Good Morning,
We are communicating this morning as a follow-up to last night’s message from Principal Vaughn regarding the opening of school today.
As an added precaution Fire Chief Anderson and a Hazmat Team came in to perform an air quantity check this morning and the building is safe to open.
The school will be open as usual today.

Community School – Closed October 11, 2023
Good evening,
Community Elementary School will remain closed on Wednesday, October 11th. This closure is a result of an issue arising from our construction company’s application of a paint product on the courtyard pavement area at Community School. It has been verified by the paint manufacturer that this product has NO VOCs and is commonly used in a variety of applications like traffic lanes.
We are actively taking measures to address the paint odor and aim to reopen the school on Thursday, October 12th. As these mitigation efforts progress, we will keep you informed with updates regarding the school’s reopening status.

Community School is CLOSED TODAY – October 10, 2023
Due to an extreme smell in the building, Community School will be closed today. Alphabest and Hoops students need to be picked up as soon as possible. Buses will NOT be running. Please do not drop students off. NO ONE IS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING.
